Medical physics


A Ph.D. student position is available in the area of statistical modeling of auditory signals withing the Medical Physics Section of the Insitute of Physics, University of Oldenburg.The position is initially associated with the European project DIRAC ("Detection and Identification of Rare Audio-Visual Cues") and will be focused on the modeling and detection of unexpected acoustic stimuli.

Applicants should have a strong quantitative background (physics, computer science, engineering or related area) and would ideally have experience in statistical approaches to machine perception of acoustic signals.

A first degree at the Master's level or equivalent is required. The position is funded according to payscale E13 (50% or 75%) of the German public services sector.
